The achievement of a ‘fair and sustainable economy’ depends on the first instance on ourselves as individuals, on our own lifestyles and on our consumer habits. One practical way in which we may all be able to make a visible difference is through our Christmas spending and giving. Christmas is the greatest single cause of personal debt in the UK, after rent arrears – and the cause of many other social problems besides – all of which runs counter to the real meaning of the festival. A good point. Christmas is generally a time of ‘Joy in Excess’, so that would be a prophetic time to live differently. Thanks for the link.
