Our monthly Joy in Enough talks resume this month, with Anna Rowlands speaking on Catholic Social Teaching – Towards a Politics of Communion.
The talk is online, on Wednesday 18th January 2023, from 7pm to 8.15.
Anna Rowlands is St Hilda Professor of Catholic Social Thought and Practice in the Department of Theology and Religion at Durham University, and also the chair of the UK Centre for Catholic Social Thought and Practice.

She will be talking about her new book Towards a Politics of Communion: Catholic Social Teaching in Dark Times. In her book she takes a fresh approach to considering the increasingly critical questions concerning the role of Catholic Social Theology in a pluralist and post-secular context, and thinking in contemporary society about the issues of political community and democracy, migration, and integral ecology. The Tablet called the book “a fluent and polyphonic to the Catholic vision of a good life”, and we look forward to discussing these ideas in the context of the Joy in Enough project.
Previous Joy in Enough talks have covered economics, the circular economy, debt, taxation, money, and many other topics related to a fair and sustainable economy. You can view the archive of talks here.
